Letter from Your Constituent: Support HB 5731/SB 471
Foie gras is notoriously cruel to produce. Ducks and geese are force-fed, through a pipe shoved down their throats, to grow their livers up to 10 times their normal size. More than a dozen countries, as well as California and New York City, have already outlawed this cruelty, and Rhode Island should do the same.
Please ask that HB 5731/SB 471 come up for a vote in committee and voice your support. This is one of my highest priorities as a voter.
From Your Constituent: Oppose S. 2619/HR 4999
As a Rhode Island voter, I am writing to urge you to support HB 5731/SB 471. This basic common sense measure will prevent the intolerable cruelty of force-feeding birds to make foie gras.
Please ask that HB 5731/SB 471 come up for a vote in committee today.
Please Support HB 5731/SB 471 Today
I’m writing to express strong support for HB 5731/SB 471, legislation that would finally ban the cruel production and sale of foie gras in Rhode Island. No animals deserve to be force-fed through a pipe shoved down their throats. The production of foie gras involves unimaginable suffering, and Rhode Islanders do not support that.
Please support HB 5731/SB 471 today and ask that it come up for a vote in committee.
