Letter from Your Constituent: Oppose S. 2619/HR 4999
I′m writing to express my sincere opposition to S. 2619/HR 4999, the EATS Act. This harmful legislation threatens basic protections for animals and poses significant risks to people. If passed, it could destroy hundreds of protections against the worst cruelties, like abuse of dogs in puppy mills, as well as state laws on a vast range of other concerns, including pesticide application on fields, arsenic in food, protection against lead poisoning, chemicals in baby-food containers, pollution standards for spraying sewage on crops, flammability standards for cigarettes, and child labor.
Please oppose S. 2619/HR 4999. This is one of my highest priorities as a voter.
From Your Constituent: Oppose S. 2619/HR 4999
As your constituent, I want you to know that one of my highest priorities is animal welfare. The EATS Act, or S. 2619/HR 4999, threatens even the most basic protections for animals. The act is designed to wipe out existing state laws that prohibit the cruel cage confinement of egg-laying hens, mother pigs, and baby calves.
I urge you to oppose S. 2619/HR 4999.
