“Standard practice”? Total cruelty.

Animal mutilations are standard practice at factory farms. Often performed without pain relief, they are completely legal.

Legal mutilations include pulling out or destroying young calves’ horns, cutting notches into baby pigs’ ears, searing or slicing off the beaks of days-old chicks, chopping off the tails of cows and pigs, clipping piglets’ teeth with pliers or other tools, and castration through a host of gruesome methods.
