Ban Foie Gras in Rhode Island

NOTHING NEEDED HERE

Rhode Island is just steps away from outlawing the cruelty of foie gras. H.6663 seeks to prohibit the production and sale of foie gras in the state.

Foie gras, what some consider a “luxury food,” is produced by force-feeding ducks and geese so their livers grow abnormally large. The process is one of the most traumatic forms of animal cruelty. Birds suffer severe illness and injuries as they are force-fed two or three times a day. Mercy For Animals has investigated foie gras production, exposing the abuse these poor birds endure.

Last month, H.6663 passed the Rhode Island House by an overwhelming margin, and it’s now under consideration in the state senate. Please urge your state senator to support this legislation and prevent the cruelty of foie gras.

Your voice is crucial. Please urge your Rhode Island state senator to support H.6663 now.
