Service members want more plant-based options in military facilities. You can help!

The CDC’s Food Service Guidelines for Federal Facilities calls for increased availability of plant-based options. In a recent Mercy For Animals survey of 319 active service members, 90% of respondents said they wanted military facilities to follow these recommendations.

Unfortunately, plant-based options at military facilities are inconsistent and inadequate.

Please ask your members of Congress to change this by supporting the adoption of these guidelines in the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.

For national security, our military personnel must be adequately fueled while serving our country, and I recently learned that service members are not offered sufficient plant-based options at military facilities. With more Americans leaving animal products off their plates, it is imperative that military food standards reflect this change.

Supporting service members is one of my highest priorities as your constituent.
