NOTHING NEEDED HERE
The House of Representatives recently passed a Farm Bill containing the dangerous EATS Act (or “Save Our Bacon”)—a provision that jeopardizes state laws banning the cruel confinement of hens, mother pigs, and calves.
The battle now moves to the Senate. The Agriculture Committee is beginning deliberations on the Farm Bill, and as a member of this committee, your Senator has the power to keep this harmful language out of the Senate draft.
Your Senator needs to hear from you now! Please take the steps below:
1. Confirm your Senator is on the Committee: Check the official Senate Agriculture Committee Membership list here. *Note: Some states have two Senators on the committee—if yours does, please call both!
2. Make the call: If your Senator is listed, dial (202) 224-3121 to be connected to their office.
What to say: “My name is [Name] and I’m a constituent calling to urge the Senator to keep the dangerous EATS Act, also known as the “Save Our Bacon” Act, out of the Farm Bill. This is an incredibly important issue to me as a voter. Thank you.”
